These are common threads that I come across in forums where people desperately looking for a mentor to teach them to make money online. And it’s a common sight to see a lot of replies following the thread with some somewhat self promotional replies.
Now the questions that you’ll need to keep in mind when when looking for a mentor that suits you are:
(1) Are these so-called mentors’ credible people?
There are a lot humbugs out there and this is an undeniable fact. How many times have you come across claims like:
“I made $3000 in a week after following the ebook. Buy the book by clicking here and you’ll make money”
“I’ve bought all ebooks about internet marketing, took every course out there, spent thousand of dollars and now making millions. I’ve refined everything in my ebook, and all you need is my ebook. Get it now”
Come on, if making money online is that easy, why isn’t everybody making money online and quit their job? It would be great if it was that easy and buying a few ebooks or software is what it takes to build an online business. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. An ebook or software could be a small piece of the internet business puzzle but definitely not the whole picture.
As a matter of fact, all jobs requires 2 kinds of training – book training and “on the job training”. If you know nothing about cooking, do you think reading some cooking manuals is all you need to be able to cook? Next..
2) What are their specializations and are their specialty what you want to learn?
