Bum Marketing Works – Here Are Some Live Results
It’s time to brag! Well, not really. Just want to confide you that Bum Marketing does work! And you better start working on it now without second thought for a better finance.
Let me just remind you the gem of Bum Marketing. It’s basically article marketing but it targets on keywords that are at least 3 words long. Generally speaking, the longer the keywords, the better as long as it has sufficient search query.
Now, we learnt that article directories and some social sites play an important role on Bum Marketing success. But, the fact is, it works just fine as well with your own site or blog. (Wordpress self hosted blogs prove to perform better than a static site or blogs on other platforms).
So, if you just want to earn some extra dollars to pay your car installment or household utilities, then continue doing the free bum marketing is no harm. However, if you want to move to the next level and earn serious full time income online, think about getting your own blogs live. It allows you with better flexibility for monetization.
Okay, now let me show you some results that this blog Internet Business Made Easy is getting on those popular search engines; Google, Yahoo and MSN. It’s really not that difficult and notes that I didn’t even include the double quotes (“like this”). They are just searched what a normal surfer would type ie. Without the quotes.
Search terms: Who is Steven Wagenheim
See that? Ranked 1st position on Yahoo search results for the terms: Who is Steven Wagenheim without quotes with about 139,000 competitions. Check it out HERE.
And let’s have a look at Google. Wow, not bad either. 2nd position on Google with 25,900 competitions. Check it out HERE.
But it’s a little low on MSN. However, it’s still on 1st Page. And by the way, I don’t care much even if it’s not indexed by them because…
All right, now see this..
I tried the terms with just the name of the marketer and viola!
6th position on Google 1st Page.
Just imagine where would you rank if you were to write a good and optimized article targeting the name of a guru that doesn’t have his own site or blog using his own name!
Let us look at another search terms. Again, I’m not using the quotes!
Search terms: Dofollow blogs how to find them
Rank at 1st position on 1st page results on both Google and Yahoo with 178,000 and 1,840,000 competitions respectively. Are you motivated?
Well, some might argue that very few people will search the terms in that order. But remember that the searches were made without quotes meaning that the result displayed are for the most nearest possible results of the phrase being searched irrespective of order.
Anyway, let us put the search phrase in another way. How about “how to find dofollow blogs”? (Note that actual searches were made without the quotes)
Postion no. 9th on 1st page of Google results with more than a million competitions! If you encountered similar situation like this, and that the current position already driving you traffics and profits, then by all means just write more articles on the same subject and link to it and with all these linking, it’s easy to push it upwards. Really no complicated science.
Let’s look at the performance at Yahoo…

Okay, let us move further. This blog is optimize for the keyphrase “Internet Business Made Easy” and has been on the first page of Google and Yahoo for a long time. See to believe Google results here and Yahoo results here.
However, if you browse through my blog at its entirety, you will find very little density of this phrase (internet business made easy). And the question is how then could I manage to get such high ranking for a million over competitions phrase?
There is no secret actually but the surprising fact is that things like this which is really beneficial if used, was rarely discussed. So, it is a secret in some ways. Else, why few (especially gurus) avoid to discuss them?
The secret is Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI). So, instead of emphasizing and optimizing my blog with just Internet Business Made Easy, I’ve actually discussed a wide variety of topics pertaining to internet business. That’s it! Nothing complicated. Examples of synonyms and areas that have either direct or indirect relations with Internet Business would be:

However, this is the best one way by far with just a one time fee rather than dragging you with a monthly subscription.

Good job Waken, it seems you are seeing some decent results, now if you could pull those same results with some of the high paying keywords, i think you will strike a goldmine

I’d suggest Google’s free AdWords keyword tool over anything that costs money, but that of course just my opinion. But I haven’t used Keyword LSI Spy so its hard to know.
Good point! Keywords can bring money. In the world of SEO keyword which we use plays the major role. The whole plan depends on this I would say. Therefore using the right keyword is very important. In article submission, directories, forums, blogs, advertising tags everywhere this is what goes in first. Well done! and well written!
I think the first example is not a good one, because its not difficult to rank well for brand or product names/or person’s name. The second one the phrase is so long its not difficult, short popular phrases are a little more arduous.
Product names and brand names! That’s it! That’s one of the important points. Well, yeah! It’s not easy to rank for these but this is what the majority is not doing. Glad they are not doing it

You cannot stay long on search engines for short popular phrase but think this way:
What’s the difference of having one short popular phrase ranking on 1st page with 3000 searches daily than 30 bum marketing keyphrases that get 100 searches each everyday?
Differences? Yeah, more work of course, but you’ll be long enough than that one phrase alone.

I don’t think what your doing would be considered LSI. You are writing articles with synonyms and linking to your original. That’s not LSI. Let’s suppose you wrote an article about cars and your keyword was cars that you wanted to rank for. If LSI was really being used by the search engines then you would also show up for automobiles or you could write about automobiles and be indexed for cars.
I use Google Adwords for my keywords but I have not tried Keyword LSI Spy yet. Maybe I’ll have to try it and see what’s the difference between the two. Thanks for all the info!

Looks like you’ve got some decent results there. I’ve had some really good success with similar approaches to marketing. The key really is to not focus on just a single aspect, and dip into multiple ways of achieving your objective.

This is getting interesting. I know that long-tail keywords are great. But is the data provided by google adwords keyword tool reliable? Anyone ever tried using free tools and got great results?
Well, nothing could be more accurate than a tool provided by Big G itself – the search engine! Who could have better info other than the search engines themselves. And yes, the Google Keywords External Tool is reliable.
But of course, there’s nothing perfect. So, don’t waste time searching for a tool / software that you think will provide you with 100% accuracy as it don’t exist. Just use it as an estimate.

I see some people just write articles and use bum marketing with link to affiliate site. They can make money but your always better off with own site since you will be building links and seo it. This way if it is a blog any new post will have some pr from other pages and will be listed faster most of the time when you start marketing it.
Well, I provide bum marketing services so I know it works for mild competition keywords ALL the time. With correct on-page SEO and a few links from article directories and web directories, it’s easy to get ranked for long phrases, the trick is to find long phrases with enough steady search volume.
Coming to LSI, more and more people are using LSI to increase their rankings. ~keyword queries are also getting very popular because of this.
Most of the examples you have considered have no competition and that’s why it was so easy to rank them on all three search engines. I would agree with you that bum marketing would work for any term that doesn’t have a lot of other marketers competing. The only big effort is in finding out keywords with low competition but decent traffic.

It shows you can get listed well if you choose the keywords carefully and market site correct. I would make sure to have some good products for each topic besides adsense you could make more money off some good affiliate sites or programs.
I am using Google Aswords. It is first time when i read about keyword LSI Spy. Soon I use it and find out which one is better from them. This is very nice and informative article. I will keep this in my mind.

I’ve written over 25 articles on about 4 subjects and so far I’ve made 2 sales. For the amount of work I’ve put in it’s not been great for me. I’m losing faith.

Are there any free tools for finding LSI keywords when creating an article / website page?
I am aware of using tilde ~ in google for keywords – but this usually produces limited results.
You want to include the keywords in your content as well. However, be sure you don’t over repeat the word as it will look spammy.

Seriously how many people come to your website from the keywords you mention above? I think put our site on the first page is not effective if those keywords is not popular and not many people searching for it.
